I just had a spike too. Now freaking out. What caused your spike?
Sointu
I am sorry to hear that. Trying in-ear maskers triggered my spike. My other ear that usually isn't ringing started ringing. I regret trying them
CC_16
How long has your spike been? Had it got better? Hope both of ours will go down! How old are you?
Sointu
I am 35. My spike has lasted for few days already. The hyperacusis/T spike has not got better. I was able to sleep last night a bit better (the spike stole my sleep), so hopefully if I get better sleep for few days it helps
Sointu
Yes, I hope both of our spikes will go down.

Do you think we are still able to get into a relationship and get married and have kids etc with the health conditions we have?
Sointu
I have been thinking about the same thing lately sometimes because of my age. I am getting older. I don´t know am I able to have kids because of these health issues, hyperacusis ruined so many things in my life... I am in a relationship myself and have been in a relationship for years. I hope you achieve your dreams despite of the health conditions. :)

I am in a relationship but I feel uncertain whether I can still be a good girlfriend. I always check my ear. I don't know whether I can give birth to kids. Is your guy supportive of you? Does he know you have tinnitus?
CC_16
And sometimes I maybe in a bad mood and not as happy as before
Sointu
I can relate. It can be hard for a partner to see how much the other person suffers because of these type of health issues. I also can't do stuff I was able to do before, life is full of limitations. It is not good for relationship.
Sointu
My partner is supportive. I also check my ears constantly, it is a constant mental battle to live with hyperacusis and tinnitus
Sointu
Do your partner support you? Hopefully he does.
CC_16
I don't know yet. He should be. I have not told him yet.

Some days I am
Suicidal. Some days I am hopeful. Have you felt suicidal? How do you encourage yourself? Thanks!
