I think a lot of it is about genetics. Those predisposed to tinnitus need to be more careful with noise/drugs.

So if you have children make sure they protect their hearing whenever it is warranted.

None of my family members have this problem. My grandparents didn't hear well but its age related.

I read a lot here in the forum and I think that in most of the cases there is a psychological problem. I always had to deal with anxiety and I didnt have a good childhood.

If you ask most of the tinnitus patients they will tell you that in a phase of life they had to deal with depression or anxiety or something else.

I think most people have went through at least one period of depression or anxiety, etc. They say 1 in 3 people I think, but it's probably higher due to lack of reporting.

If T was based purely on psychology then everyone who has suffered mental health issues would have it, there must be something that predisposes people.

Mental health issues can also hereditary, so even if it is based on psychology, genetics may still play a role.
