@BrOKeN_1 thank you :) I hope that's right. I feel like I'm just going to always think about this tinnitus rather than live life. It seems Impossible to see a life without always being upset over this condition.

You dont deserve this. You deserve love and acknowledgement. And sanity and silence in a quiet room. However, we are now in an era where tinnitus is being taken seriously and researchers are actually trying to find something that really helps. Imagine getting this 20 years ago. Hold fast.

I got this (1 year short of) 20 years ago. What am I supposed to be imagining?
BrOKeN_1
@Damocles I don't think @Lurius in anyway was trying to downplay the hell of the last 20 years for you brother. One can only imagine how you've navigated the last two decades. Giving each other hope is all we have. For now.

Appreciate your words here @BrOKeN_1, but just to avoid the risk of offending him, I wasn't taking a dig at @Lurius. I know all too well the guy get's the reality of things here.

My comment is really just trying to put everything in perspective for newcomers: we're here, we're real, we suffered for years before treatments were even a possibility. You've undoubtedly got the better end of the stick.

This is quite simple, what I meant was just that 20 years ago no researcher was taking tinnitus seriously, now they are. Getting it 20 years ago and surviving until now should be met with a great deal of respect.

@Lurius thank you for your words, they really gave me some if not a lot of confidence. I really hope researchers find a more effective and guaranteed treatment- heck, even a cure. We really are in an era where tinnitus is getting widespread and I hope it finally reaches an end in the upcoming years.
