How long were you exposed for? Shit happens that's out of our control. Take some NAC if it makes you feel any better. It should be temporary just like how most setbacks are.

If possible meditate on it. Let your fight or flight response mellow and check back in with yourself in the morning. Ask yourself honestly if your having a spike or your panicked perception is exasperating it. This is just a suggestion. Wishing you the best.

Was it while you were cooking or something? Do you wear hearing protection while cooking?

Vitamins A, E, C, magnesium and NAC have some research that suggests they help with acoustic trauma.

I don't think a few short beeps from a smoke alarm would do much harm in a one-off incident. If it spikes you I bet it's temporary.

@ZFire thanks man. am loading up on NAC right now. I was exposed for maybe 30 sec-1 minute? had to scramble to find shoes because I was about to run outside and wait for it to stop beeping. lucking my neighbor was leaving at the same time and was kind enough to take it down for em.
