@Strawberryblonde I am so sorry. This condition is so awful. Listened to one of the Tinnitus Talk Podcast episodes last night that talked about a promising treatment/ cure. It's the podcast about the guy who donated 1mil to research. Check it out.
Thanks @Forever hopeful i will definitely have a listen too it. We need more than just apps/masking/CBT/pills for this awful condition and it cant come any sooner. The hissy/buzz I can handle but my god this sound in my ear that flares up is just awful.
@Strawberryblonde Sorry I meant to comment my above comment on this post about the spike from the hearing test and morse code. How long do you find it lasts? I find it goes up and down daily. And with a spike it can be weeks.
I think mine is hormonal related cause it spikes around every 2 weeks ish :-/ well I think its too do with that. I'm careful with noise and what I take etc. Audiologist said these things just happen but more so if you have an anxiety disorder which I do. I also have a pituitary tumour which messes me up too. Can't win, not one thing or another haha.
@Strawberryblonde I was actually starting to think hormones could play a role too. I've been having some signs (chin acne's, late menstrual) which I never had before. And with panic disorder on top lol that'll do it! Wish there was a test to pinpoint exact cause to go forward with treatment.
Have you had your prolactin level checked? That can mess up hormones and cause stress and anxiety which in turn raises prolactin. An option to consider if you've not had that checked
I have acquired something that I would also describe as reactive morse code chiming. I can hear it even in the shower (because it's reactive). It's depressing to think I have to live with it for the rest of my life. I wonder if there's any hope for it to calm down or even disappear.
