It does get better for people. Do you have any tmj issues? Stress or anxiety? Neck issues?

For some, it goes away after 6 to 12 months.

I still have it after 18 months since onset. Left ear spasms when I'm talking to one person in relative quiet and right ear when something sudden happens (cutlery hits, light knobs etc). Chip bags too. The spasms don't always happen, but most of times, and can get quite uncomfortable. With more noise around, they just disappear somehow.

@NYCGuy tons of anxiety I think this is what started it all :( I'm hoping it goes away also I have neck issues bad posture at times my neck around the base of my skull feels wobbly

@DimLeb your right ear sounds like mine that's how mine has been acting. Sounds weird but mine especially spasm to the sound of someone being kissed on cheek or when something like a crayon falling on the ground

@Sammy0225 I would say a definite yes to this (for most). Personally, for me, it lingered around - at times on and off - for probably closer to 1,5 years. Like @NYCGuy mentioned, if you have any of those issues, get them treated. They can affect TTTS. Imo its closely related to stress and anxiety. Also, try Bio Flavonoid supplement for a min. of 6-8 weeks.

@MindOverMatter thanks so much for the advise! It's definitely linked to anxiety I think. All this craziness started shortly after a bad panic attack

I had the same spasms you are describing, and surprisingly I stopped noticing after I got my awful Hyperacusis spike. I guess the new H leve just took over the whole thing. I get clicking sounds now. So annoying
