@Sammy0225 Ugh I hate this for you! Hoping and praying spike is very temporary and improves as all your symptoms improve.

@Sammy0225 I wish you get better, chuggle down some anti oxidants like NAC and ALA for the flu. If you develop any infection take Lysine with high doses of Vitamin C for a few days.

Also i replied to your post to ask about how you got better, any sound therapy, tips or supplements that helped?

Feel better!!
Sammy0225
@ErikaS thank you for the kind words you have been in my prayers I'm wishing both of a successful recovery <3
Sammy0225
@Jackson Brady thank you for the tips!

As for the drone humming I targeted inflammation I cut out surgar And did daily steam treatments. I also did daily Flonase to clear fluid in my ears. As for sound therapy I used natural sound enrichment I started with the tap from the faucet and moved to tv. Eventually my tones stopped being reactive …(.)
Sammy0225
I started taking high doses of magnesium but check your levels before doing so. I slowly started seeing improvements so I just kept at it till I got everything down to a hiss and a low ringing. don't use speakers for sound therapy use natural sounds like I did, the faucet and going to a quite park take in all distant sounds that are at least a football field away in length I also had Morse code that went away
Sammy0225
Main reason my ears kept developing new tones is because I was denying my ears rest. Don't let doctors poke around in your ears it will get better. Time is the only healer brother

I hope you feel better very soon and the spike dies down along with the flu.

@Sammy0225 before introducing the tap water sound and such, were you pretty much in completely silence in your home?
Sammy0225
@ErikaS when my t, started I remember having uncontrollable fluctuations everyday. High pitch, low pitch, high pitch, low. I now realize that these fluctuations were actually daily spikes. My sound tolerance was so low a simple door closing would cause the pitch to change higher for a few hours. I noticed if I sat in complete silence I wouldn't spike so I started being careful with everything in the house.
Sammy0225
Crazy as it sounds if a broom fell that was a set back for me, or if someone sneezed by me that was a setback. It sucked! I went into silence for 30 days in a beach house and finally started gaining some sound tolerance back, once I felt it was safe enough I started doing the tap water thing and noticed I wasn't spiking anymore and from there I moved to TV and parks
Sammy0225
After doing these things, I noticed I was still spiking to some stuff but the spikes weren't loud anymore. Hard to describe but they felt like they lost there ability to get max volume. Like the spikes felt like a 3 out of 10 and I could easily ignore it around this time is when I noticed tones also started fading away
Sammy0225
@Ondine thanks love appreciate it I feel a lil better today {: hope your doing ok
ErikaS
@Sammy0225 this is literally my T. My husbands phone dinging once can change the pitch of my one ring. Things like the fridge running or rain lightly hitting my roof change my T. It's not that it gets "louder" with these simple sounds, but it changes in frequency (goes higher) and can become more intrusive. I've been in a lot of silence today mixed in with quieter sounds and its just so awful to listen to :(
Sammy0225
@ErikaS i understand how you feel our loved ones don't understand how a simple ring on the phone can change the frequency. your ears are highly sensitive right now it'll get better in time just like mine did. I did the same thing I had to sit in silence and hear it's awful ringing I did this for months eventually your ears will start excepting sound again! Hang in there Erika You will beat this!
Sammy0225
@ErikaS many don't get better cause mentally it's draining to hear these noises in silence so they result to masking and medicine which in return worsens it. You have to crawl through silent hell to get out at least how it has been for me
ErikaS
@Sammy0225 as always, so appreciative ur feedback & support. What was tricky for me since onset is not having loudness or pain H. Noises never sounded louder to me than they are. If I am very tired/stressed, I may wince, but it doesn't cause overt H symp. So I told myself just keep min. to low mod. day sounds. Maybe it is the microdose Ativan, or just still my body healing? Thinking about a beach house now.. :)

@Sammy0225 how much magnesium did u take daily?

And also your post about giving the ears rests seems crucial in my case too, i've been trying to live normally along with hearing protection but i think that isn't ample rest for my ears.
