@Strawberryblonde Im honestly scared to see a Dr. My ears are all over the place, I have to wear protection 24/7 and I've read so many horror stories about doctors making it worse.
@Moni97 if it is an infection its best to at least let a Dr/nurse look at it and make an decision on what is the best course of treatment. You can fully explain your symptoms to them and why you need to wear hearing protection and don't let them do anything to your ears if you are not comfortable.
@Moni97, I'm in the Midwest too. Quite a bit of snow here. You can probably get in to see an ENT in a large city sooner, at least that's been the case where I live. I would say the sooner the better. Urgent Care would probably be the best bet right now. They will probably put you on an antibiotic like amoxicillin.
@just1morething Not to much snow where I am. It's coming off the lake but the winds are dancing around us so it's more windy and icy here. Where are you from? And That is an appointment in a bigger city. Found out today that no ENTs in a 35 mile radius takes my insurance. Though I plan to go to a clinic in the morning. Just to be safe, came to realize I'm more afraid of infection than sound.
@Moni97, I'm from southern Minnesota. I'm glad you're going to a clinic in the morning. I go to the Twin Cities ENTs lately as the local ENTs don't seem to want to deal with me and are booked up more. Even if you have to pay out of pocket you don't want to damage your inner ear(s) if possible.
@just1morething Minnesota? Oh my, you must be buried in snow. I'm from the Mitten, so my weather here is unpredictable lol I'm actually traveling to the motor city for an ENT which is pretty far but HF has great specialists and besides… pretty sure I lost my job because of all these ear problems.. so I don't really have the extra money to pay out of pocket rn. :/
