I dont't think so, but brains are different so who really knows. Could get better, worse or stay the same (I got worse, but was it the benzo?) As you know I believe searching for and trying all kinds of things to get better makes some of us worse, as opposed to just accept that this is how my T is today and probably will be for a long time. Only then the healing can begin (and I'm not talking only habituation).

I have quit and reinstated Remeron like 5-6 times the last 8 months. Once I'm on those I can swear I get worse, once I'm off I get worse. It's a neverending cycle, trying all these things and constantly monitoring it's effect on your T. You could look into the progress of @Vicki3116. Thats one way to attack this shit (or actually NOT attack it at all). She has a kid by the way :)

@Pistolpete I appreciate your words! The main thing I am wanting is improvement/desensitization with my very sensitive reactivity. That is what is holding me back from living my life more normally. I have read that this absolutely can improve with correct sound therapy and calming inflammation in the brain, so that's what I'm trying. So I don't want Ativan getting in the way of that.

How loud is your baseline? I understand you have quite high pitch tinnitus? The thing with high pitch is that althoug not that loud it can be heard over almost everything, I often wonder if mine is reactive as it seems the louder I turn up fans, white noise, AC etc, the more prominent my hissing T gets. 1/2
