I'm about to cancel the appointment. My noxacusis is bad. I was changing my plugs and my took a deep breath next to me and now my right ear hurts. How will ever handle a car on the express way??? I can't handle how horrible things have gotten so fast. Idk what to do!

@Joe Cuber No ENT within 45 minutes takes my insurance and no others would see me if I paid out of pocket.. I waited 3 weeks for this appointment. It was the soonest anyone would see me.

@Joe Cuber Im not going. This morning I couldn't wash my hands or swallow with my ears flexing in pain.

I think you made the right decision more likely they would have performed test that might have aggravated your H (nox)

@Moni97 praying that things calm down for you. I'm not sure how long you've been dealing with T, but for me the ancillary symptoms started to ease with time.
Moni97
@Joe Cuber possibly. My canals are irritated but idk what to do. My ear muffs aren't enough help. And idk if that would cause the Nox to be worse. I'm at a loss of what to do.

@twa i think I've had T most my life, though it was never a problem till I developed this hyperacusis and started wearing plugs. Actually my T feels like it's been more stable lately.

For car trips foam earplugs and active noise cancelling headphones are the best protection.
Moni97
@xyz I already wear foam plugs and headphones 24/7 at home, and that's not even working anymore.
Moni97
Wait @xyz I read your comment wrong, I don't wear active head phones. May I ask what kind of H you have?
