@Sammy0225 My T is low enough today to be masked too! I can usually hear it over the TV even when focusing, but today I had to search for it to hear it, it wasn't that hard to search for, but still not obvious like usual. How long have you had T? Mine started November 20th of last year so I'm almost at the 3 month mark.
@SarahMLFlemmer I came to the acceptance that it might never go away. I have days where it's whisper level and other days like yourself I can hear it over the TV. I've had mine going on 9 months. In a way my brain habituated to the loud ringing. I can fall asleep on command most days and take naps unmasked. Eventually you're brain gets use to it.
Early on my T was highly reactive so masking was never a option unfortunately. So I guess my brain just naturally adapted to not being able to mask. Which Is really sad in a way.
@Sammy0225 I don't think I've fully accepted to the fact it's most likely permanent but I acknowledge it's a high possibility. I know I need to "habituate" and started a protocol that should hopefully help speed up the process. I still can't sleep without medication unfortunately. How did you get T?
@SarahMLFlemmer It'll come naturally. For me I had to grieve a bit over the person I left behind (my old self) and learn to co-exist with my new self. Habitation will come naturally somehow the brain starts recognizing the ringing as the new normal and the anxiety goes out the window with it. Tbh I have no clue. Never went out just came out the blue.
Unfortunately after the ringing started I developed H and TTTS with distortions, 4-5 multi-tones so I had the whole package. Just gotta take it day by day. Thankfully I dropped to 2 tones no more TTTS and H calmed down as well. Time is the only healer
