Hi @TheCapybara I am so lala - trying to live but it s very hard - I can work but have to avoid noises - lately new tones arrived due to noise exposure ( baby and one meeting in the city) so now I am going invacation in our cottage in the woods - thanks for asking :)
Summer is quite ok being outside with surronding noises - but what will be in winter, just in rooms?

Last winter was the first I spent in a colder climate, but the cold dry air and no allergens seemed to keep my tinnitus calmer.

Talked to Prof Gerhard Goebel — he said loud noises won t increase T — and suicide due to T has always to do with depression — wondering

it is sad that the professional world ignore the really severe cases of Tinnitus - he said that habituation is the key für every T sufferer - and to forget about other therapies - nevertheless he is a nice guy - he invited me to have a long chat - I will see

I would say there's no way to habituate to tinnitus that has multiple sounds, very loud, plus varying in volume and changing the sound characteristics about every day if not more frequently. It sounds like he's thinking run of the mill mild tinnitus that most people have.

Tomorrow the Tinnitus Group of Frankfurt will celebrate its 30th jubilee with a keynote by Dr Gerhard Goebel — I organized a little bit
Wondering what the future will bring as my T is just as worse as I can imagine — can t tolerate another worsening
I think T is an evolutionary lack as back in the times we had not such stress and loudness as we have now due to modern times

nah im sure people from way back then got tinnitus in all sorts of ways, some like us have bad luck/ shitty genes, the problem is and always will be simply NOBODY GIVES A FUC about treating it. no research no awareness no interest its like taboo to even talk about it outside of our community
    gameover
Evolution fails here. We tend to procreate before getting T. Or able to after. Maybe with more people getting T while young evolution will kick in. But I think the human race will get destroyed for other reasons before it can evolve to be T resistant. Good riddance.

Yes we are deleting out ourselves. It will happen — just a question of time

    Take it day by day.

Yep, it can be quite "soul destroying" at times, full range of emotions involved, however there does come a point where it is possible to live again, hard lessons to learn in how not to aggravate the noisy "companion", and one of the hardest lessons to learn is not to listen to the "buzz," "squeal" and "cicadas", as this really does increase the "volume" :)

@KazM this is so true :)
