Jupiterman
That's worrying. If hearing is being suddenly affected, then prednisone may be necessary?
DeanD
@Jupiterman - ahh although my hearing isn't affected, I'm unable to hear things I could as the tinnitus has become so loud now
S
not sure if you have said but is your T more ear or head based? @DeanD
DeanD
@Strawberryblonde - it used to be more head, and is still a bit head based, but there is definately an increase in ear tinnitus since the ear plug moulds
ErikaS
Might be worth trying prednisone still like @Jupiterman said, seems to be an inflammatory component especially with the nerves. Ugh I'm so sorry I'm angry for you!
DeanD
@ErikaS - I did speak to my GP before about Predisone but she didnt want to prescribe it (not so easily given out in the UK I think). I do have Prednisolone but I assume not quite the same thing
ajc
@DeanD, prednisolone is actually better than prednisone. Prednisolone and prednisone are both synthetic glucocorticoids. Prednisone is metabolized in the liver to the active metabolite, prednisolone.
ajc
So prednisolone is already the active metabolite whereas prednisone must be converted in the liver to it. Prednisolone skips that steps. It's good.
DeanD
Thanks @ajc - annoyingly Ive realised Ive run out!
Will have to get some more
