- 5 weeks ago I had an endoscopy which showed nothing.
- 5 weeks ago it went but 3 weeks ago it came back and hasn't left.
- A CT Scan of sinuses shows mild sinusitis
- A CT Scan of chest shoes nothing
- Having barium swallow shortly
- Taken Omeprazole for a week in case acid, but not really helping

Tbh this one is really hitting me hard. Harder than t and h right now (and I didn't think that was possible).

This almost sounds like a histamine reaction like mast cell activation syndrome. Is there any pattern to it being set off the most ?

@ErikaS - I didn't mention in my original post that when it triggers, swallowing becomes very difficult. Almost as if the muscles are too tight or weak.
Its possible it is a histsmine reaction although Ive never had any allergies before.

Just had a barium swallow test but the results were clear.
Unfortunately although yesterday was a bad day for tightness and swelling, it wasn't as bad today frustratingly.

@ErikaS - Im a bit lost as to a pattern (which is something I'm usually good at spotting).
Ive even considered whether its related to pulled throat muscles (somehow).
I am almost eating, drinking and doing the same things everyday despite some days being considerably worse than others.

@DeanD are the spasms affecting your voice too?

I am a speech/language pathologist and worked in the hospitals for 2 years and performed many modified barium swallows and diagnosed swallowing disorders. Do any other neurological symptoms happen when this occurs, like does your throat close up and not allow you to breathe? Any tongue numbness or swelling?

@sakrt - my voicebox seems to be taking a hit too. I only have to speak for a short while and it becomes strained and croaky

@ErikaS - the other symptoms I now have include a loud gurgle in the throat a second or two after I swallow saliva, loud enough for people to hear (been this way for 2 weeks and always there). I also get a tightness or swelling towards the back of my tongue (on right side). I can sometimes feel that my breathing is laboured.
The throat swelling can be around the glands, around adams apple and underneath adams apple.

@ErikaS - although ny breathing can be laboured when triggered, and I feel a reduced amount of air is coming up and down the airway (which does panic me) , my saturation monitor at the time still shows 96%-98%.
On Friday it felt tight. By Sat I was eating burger and chips without much of a problem (although wasn't 100%), by Sunday back tight and even a tablet got stuck.

@ErikaS - when I bend forward I have the urge to cough, and feel that tightness and irritation pull down in to my chest. I had a full lung function test two weeks ago which also came back clear!
With every test coming back clear anxiety is being blamed yet I don't really feel anxious - only when throat feels as if its tight and might close.
