Tinnitus Talk Support Forum

Hello! I totally agree and can relate. I had a very deep and dark 3 month mental breakdown, but for about a month now- I am able to mentally cope quite well and do ALL of the things I was doing before (besides sleep without medication). I am a homeschool Mom of 2 littles and I have a Husband. They have all been so understanding and I am thankful.

I gained tinnitus in November from medication, I have found there's at least 10 people from my church alone who have it and about 20 people OR MORE that I personally know (all together). If they have gotten through it, it reassures me that I will and can also. <3 I hope you find that you can too and the encouragement you need to keep going!! I'm sorry to meet on these terms but I'm glad you found this forum.

...John 16:33 has gotten me through so far.

Happy Resurrection Day!

Acoustic trauma for me. I never knew what this was - or like so many others would have been more careful. I cannot believe there are so many afflicted with no cure or great treatment.

I've definitely been in tears a few times already. I too have Trazadone for sleep and a white noise machine to help mask sound. I have Ativan too if I need it, but I'm trying to avoid it. I think the anxiety sorrow is the worst part.

I know two people that have it. My brother in law and Nephew. Both of them don't really care about it. It doesn't emotionally trigger them and I think that is the key place to get to.

I'm trying to stay hopeful that this will pass, but I just have this suspicion that it won't and I need to learn to live with it. It's good to see so many others are and can. Hoping and praying yours gets better too.

Mine started as a classic eeeeeee, and now has an added whistle-hiss. Anyone you know kick it? Or they just adapted/accepted?

@RingerHisser I literally cried about 7x a day for 3 months straight, I'm not joking. :/ I took long baths everyday to drown out the noise and literally was just alive to survive. I am honestly in a much better place, and like they say- you will get there too. I have had two friends where it went away completely, but the rest have adapted.

I had no idea this was a thing until I developed it. Mine was caused by med. Accutane. I also now have chronic pressure headaches plus migraines, jaw, ear, and facial pain. That med. did a real number on me.
