I'm so sorry I know what you're going through, none of this is fair. But please hang on
DeanD
@stacey - thanks . Have to say as brutal as my TTTS, hyperacusis and tinnitus is, it is only 25% of my problem - the dysphalgia (possible neurological) is a much bigger piece - never thought I'd say that!

Dean my brother hang in there you're so much stronger then you think my friend!
stacey
@DeanD wow how long has the dysphalgia been going on for? Please give it sometime maybe it'll subside, I know it only worsens things but please hang in there, we are all here for you
DeanD
@Sammy0225 - thank you man!! Im still hanging in
DeanD
@stacey - its been going on for 2 months now, but unfortunately seems to be getting worse. Up to London for some specific tests soon and also neck scans in 2 weeks.
Thank you - means so much to hear you say
stacey
@DeanD please report back to us what happens, they should be able to tell you more of what's going on with these scans and hopefully give you the proper treatment to fix this issue. Please let us know.

I get dysphagia sometimes, it feels like ive forgotten how to swallow foods. Hope you find oit what's gojng on with that @DeanD :)

How are things progressing @DeanD ?
DeanD
@Strawberryblonde - Im glad you're ok as hadn't seen you in a while!
I'm sorry you have experienced this too - its an awful thing to go through.
Thanks!
DeanD
@ErikaS - blood tests have been taken for my creatine kinase levels (normal) and also anti–acetylcholine receptor test (pending).
In the next two weeks I will be having an electrical nerve test on my throat - and also in the next two weeks a visit to an ENT for a throat CT Scan and check for growths.
Trying to cover all bases!
That said I managed to get to a bar last night (one beer) with my ear plugs (still trying!)
DeanD
@ErikaS - how are things with you?

Also hope you dont mind me asking but did you ever come across a patient with a link between their ears (or eustachian tube) and swallowing?

Every so often the ear crackle disappears for a minute, and ears feel blocked or muffeled, but during that time swallowing is incredibly difficult - almost as if Im swallowing against pressure or air

Just taking random breaks from here @DeanD niec to get away from anything T related, living with it so don't wanna be here as well lol hope you are well despite all the tests you gotta go through! :)
ErikaS
@DeanD I give you so much credit for pushing through and trying as hard as you are. Glad you were able to get out last night for a drink.
I do not recall working with any patients that complained of ear issues with their swallowing issues. That was quite a few years ago since I worked in that setting ( 8-9 years), wish I could be of more help :/
