I understand. I was someone who needed silence to recharge and survive..it was the one thing I looked forward to and loved. One day at a time for us? How are you doing today?
Hi @Mo8409, today I woke up and completely lost my sanity with the beast louder than usual while trying to think about important matters lol.
It was quite frustrating, but overall, I'm not doing terribly. I wouldn't say things are exceptionally great either. I'm hoping tomorrow will be better. Currently, I'm experiencing a setback caused by DayQuil, which is causing me to have only 2-3 good days in a week.
How are you? I saw that you're a new member of the club, and I'm sorry that you are also going through this terrible condition. Fortunately, since you're in the early stages, there is still a lot of optimism and potential for improvement for you!
@EternalRinging I'm sure that's the last thing you want to wake up to and honestly me too. I'm honestly afraid to touch anything because of it causing setbacks. I experienced one spike and that scared me.
I'm doing okay though. I don't have hearing loss. I believe mine came from a very very low dose of Busphar. I took it for 3 weeks and then all of a sudden the ringing came. How did you get a yours? Hearing loss?
@Mo8409 I agree, spikes in tinnitus can be really annoying. I wish mine would remain steady, but I've learned over the course of a year that certain activities like long car rides or anything that resonates with the engine frequency tend to cause temporary spikes for me. Additionally, my tinnitus is also reactive to real-time sounds but thankfully, sometimes I get a break from the reactivity.
Based on my audiogram, there is no hearing loss detected up to 8 kHz, and all the measurements fall within a 10 dB range.
However, I was also tested with the extended frequencies up to 20 kHz and there is some mild hearing loss of around 30 dB at 16 kHz. I doubt it's the cause of my tinnitus because a few years ago, I previously struggled to hear the 16 kHz frequency during a self-administered YouTube hearing test.
So tbh my cause isn't clear but it happened suddenly two days after an ear wax removal, so highly likely related to the procedure or maybe the wax that impacted my eardrum.
It's very unfortunate that our tinnitus came suddenly without a warning.
