You never realize how loud the environment we live in is until you get tinnitus. I was sitting in a drive through last night and just the loud trucks and motor cycles reving their pipes was driving me crazy.

@Ryan Scott It's true. I especially never noticed it because I always tuned it out with headphones, but I'm using speakers now so I have to listen more to whatever's going on outside my window.
