Very rarely I will have a quick 5-6 second episode of fleeting tinnitus as the ball is struck. I've played 19 rounds this year and it's probably happened 3 times. The game for the most part relaxes me. Would not say golf has caused any spikes.

I'm learning to play golf, that and photography are the two hobbies I'm picking up to help distract me/give me motivation through this ordeal.

@cjbhab See that is exactly what I am scared to death of lol. The sound of the ball of clubs especially drivers can be pretty loud.

You don't have your ear right next to the ball though, you could wear plugs if you need to

@Stayinghopeful It is definitely a fun sport just to go drink a few beers and hangout with your buddies. I have been playing as a kid never took it serious just keeping it fun.

I have gone from hitting 100s to hitting as low as 74 last year. It is fun when you are playing well.

@Stayinghopeful Yeah I know man, guess I am just paranoid to make it worse because I am already having such a hard time with how it is now. Id rather live like a hermit than make it worse. I was about to buy some new Mizunos JPX 923s before getting tinnitus.

@Ryan Scott start small. Go to a par 3 with ear protection. If going would bring you some joy and sense of normalcy, I would highly recommend trying to do so with ear protection.
