@Strawberryblonde I have tried taking all sorts of meds and vitamins nothing really helps. Some meds make me fall asleep faster but I wake up an hour or so later back to square one and can't fall back asleep.
@Strawberryblonde I have taken trazadone, diazapam, melatonin, valerian root, magnesium, and even some herbal tea. Trazadone helped me to fall asleep, but as soon as I wake up an hour or so later that's a wrap. Plus trazadone and valium are both considered ototoxic.
@Strawberryblonde When I fist got T I could mask with rain, then that stopped working, then crickets stopped, then white noise stopped. Nothing really works now and not sure why I've just been staying home only go to town to get a sandwich. Haven't exposed myself to any noise at all.
@Ryan Scott I feel like I just told you this but low dose Remeron saved me and lets me sleep pretty darn good 5/7 nights. I do 3.75mg remeron, half of benedryl, and 3mg of disollving melatonin.
As far as sound goes, my husband sleeps in our bedroom which is above the guest bedroom which is where I sleep. He runs this air purifier that sits on the floor that provides this low, soft hum down to me that doesn't spike my T, but is enough of some kind of soft noise to mix a little with my T and not be totally silent.
Although its not much, makes a big difference because I never liked sleeping in silence, I found it awful even before T. Not sure what's above your room, but could try a fan on the floor or something that could provide a low hum background down to you.
@ErikaS Yeah I remember you mentioning Rameron but honestly at this point I am just terrified of drugs because once you start reading research papers that all have the potential to be ototoxic. And I pretty much always have side effects from taking medications.
