You're very early into this, the fact you are already having your first setback means you've probably overly done it already. It's really important you just relax and take things slow for the first few months
H
That's exactly what I did, and I was great for 8 years until this recent episode. Take it steady now for a better future

Hi @Hardwell, thanks for this. I know, it was a stupid mistake. I had noticed socialising at normal sound levels was improving my H&T so much until one night the sound levels were not normal anymore. I'm definitely taking it easy from now on.

How long did it take for your H to calm down after your first episode? Did you conduct a normal life for those 8 years?
H
I need to specify I never had pain H the first time around, I can't remember how long it took to be honest because I was very careful for the first 6-12 months. I remember only one spike/setback in those 8 years which was early on. That maybe lasted 2-3 weeks. Sorry it's hard for me to remember as it seems like a lifetime ago
H
In terms of conducting a normal life. Absolutely yes! Maybe too much so and that could be why I'm back here now. In those 7 years (first year being careful) I never used hearing protection at all, first business was residential property maintenance/management. I set off 10 loud fire alarms every Monday for 30 seconds for 4 years. That's over 2000 fire alarms with no worsening/spike.

Eventually moved to construction for the last 4 years and again no worsening or spikes until now, although I still don't believe it's noise induced my worsening/spike. Bars, motorbikes, venues and occasional nightclubs with no issues. Also my annual visits to Florida and its theme parks with no issues either. My partner knew I had tinnitus and sent me the 'Leinere cure'
