Its hard for others to understand the condition when they are not experiencing it. Don't accept that there is nothing we can do as an answer. Even if they cant fix a "problem" there is TRT, and CBT along with just getting some medicine to help you sleep.

Tinnitus and Hyperacusis are as much a mental issue as a physical one, it can have a huge impact on your quality of life. Good luck, I hope your parents come around and understand

Sorry to hear that. I wonder if someday the world will wake up and understand what we are going through because the lack of understanding is immense. We are suffering invisible torture and no one cares...

It's the luck of the draw if it goes away. I got mine from a low dose medication. If you find the source of what's causing your Tinnitus then it can go away. Typically hearing loss is a permanent case.

@Tryn2BHopeful Thank you for your kind words and reassureance. Everyone sharing their experiences here makes me feel less alone. Lately, all my ear symptoms, tinnitus, and facial pain have happened so quickly (9 weeks so far), it really set up my mindset for doom and gloom and tears. Masking the tinnitus at night has helped alot of with sleep.

@Juliane I hope so too. I didn't even know much about any of these things until it happened to me. My family tells me I'm 'normal,' I know they're trying to be kind, but it only feels like they're not listening to me and undermining all the pain i'm experiencing..

@Mo8409 Hopefully, the source is found. Until then I dream of the day where I don't have any pain and ringing.
