Don't want to spook you out of taking it, but I had a terrible experience with Methylpred. Took a 6-day taper pack during my onset. Experienced extreme anxiety, and my tinnitus at the time changed into a car engine sound temporary. Distortions came on while on them. Hyperacusis became far more prevalent after the taper was finish. Not sure if I can attribute steroids to that though.

@ZFire that's what makes me so nervous. I've been dealing with a spike, maybe due to the congestion idk, but idk if it's worth the risk. I've always suspected my issues are rooted in inflammation so it would be nice to see if it T/TTTS improves. But trading it for severe H is not something I want.

It's exhausting to have to be so overly cautious and questioning doctors and everything so much. And it seems everyone reacts very differently so there's no way to know really.

@Ngo13, personally, I would only take steroids if I was instructed by a Doctor to take it to treat something that's unrelated to my ears, or if you were noticing any sudden hearing loss as there's some evidence for treating it (there's a window of opportunity however). Other than that, The potential side effects ain't worth it IMO.
