@Merlin L I no longer wear ear protection when cooking or washing dishes. I'm also able to listen to computer audio at low and medium volume without pain, up to an hour at a time. In public, I wear a foam plug only in my worse ear, not both, and although I carry the Peltors with me, I don't put them on unless it's noisy or unless a sound triggers my reactive tinnitus.

@Merlin L I'm cautiously optimistic, but I wouldn't say I've got most of my life back because there are still a lot of things I avoid, and I still stay home a LOT. But to be relatively free of noxacusis in my own home feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I hope to see more incremental improvements in the coming months.

@Merlin L I also want more improvement with brain fog and energy. I feel like my brain has rewired itself so that I'm a completely different person now and that something is different about my cognition in a subtle way that only I have noticed. My husband says I still seem like I'm the same person, but I disagree. I suspect I'm still a little traumatized from the whole ordeal.

@Merlin L I hope you experience some big improvements in the near future too. I honestly didn't think I ever would, considering how many ups and downs I've had, but I'm glad I didn't kill myself, or I wouldn't be here now. That's the weird thing about T and H--recovery is not linear at all, so there's no way to know if you're healing until suddenly you realize that it's happening.
