Highly suggest ginger tea! Can't speak for ready made ginger products, but ginger really helps me with my burning pain. I boil more & sip throughout the day.

Also, question - do you ever feel like your sound tolerance decreases? I.e., your pain becomes triggered at lower volumes & sounds you were previously able to tolerate sound louder?

Ever since Tinnitus started I believe I've had a mild form of hyperacusis. I can still tolerate sounds within reason but not super loud sounds. When the pain starts I do notice a higher sensitivity to sounds until the pain goes away. It seems to come and go in waves. How about yours? Also what tea do you use? Do you buy raw ginger?

I also felt I had some mild hyperacusis going back 1 1/2 years, but it seems to be a lot worse in just the last week because more things are jumping out as being uncomfortably loud, like utensils on dishes, some TV show sound effects/music, door lock mechanism. And it was just weeks ago that TTTS ear fluttering started. Maybe no coincidence.

@RunningMan That sounds like recruitment to me. Sensitivity to the frequencies where you have hearing loss.
RunningMan
@kingsfan It seems like textbook hyperacusis. But I don't know why it seems to have changed just this last week. I don't think my T or has changed or any hearing loss. Nothing comes to mind as far as any recent noise trauma events.

@Mo8409 Has your pain gone away? How long does it last? Do louder sounds worsen it? Sometimes I feel like I have a little of that coming on since this hyperacusis sensitivity this week but hasn't been bad and fades out. It's definitely concerning as neither hyperacusis or pain were an issue to speak of for me just a couple weeks ago.
