Tinnitus Talk Support Forum

When mine increased 1 1/2 years ago, I was concerned about getting bivalent booster vaccine. But I did and was no problem. I'll get the flu shot. I was required to working in a hospital. The one that would concern me more is Shingrix based on some feedback here and elsewhere about causing/worsening tinnitus and hyperacusis.

Is that the Cardiovascular & Neurodiagnostics Technologist position? You would have been required to get a flu shot at my hospital or wear a mask. All employees.

I really don't want to scare anyone but another vaccine caused hearing issues for me years ago... Permanently. However, I was a rarity they said (one out of 10,000 or something)

I think flu vaccine will be fine. Tinnitus might spike for a few days due to your immune system activating but won't be permanent.

I'm not sure if they are giving out mRNA flu vaccines now, but I'd opt for the other kinds just because of my experience with the mRNA Covid vaccine.

@RunningMan Yes Ive been in a hospital the last 7 years and it's required but I'm curious with my new position if it is because I still work in the hospital but moved to more of a clinical setting and not the floors. Thank you for your input. What did you do at your hospital?
RunningMan
@Mo8409 Network Administrator in IT about 20 years. But the flu shot was required for all employees. Or, if you had a waiver, you had to wear a mask.

@Juliane I'm kinda glad I got all of my vaccines up to date months before this started. So I should be good for years and years to come. I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. I work in a hospital so it's mandatory for vaccines but if I don't have to get the flu I won't anymore with the T.
