Don't think it will be risky. You're adopting a wise strategy by avoiding constant use actually, which prevents building tolerance and dependency. Smart if anything.

@Juliane - I'm not a doctor of course but I took Zopiclone back in January or February for 5 days. I don't remember it doing anything noticeable to my t (it's always fluctuating up and down so I wouldn't necessarily know) - and my GP told me not to take it for more than 5 days for risk of addiction.
That's about as much info as I can give I'm afraid.

1 is perhaps not so risky. But I've found that zopiclone as well as zopidem has a nasty side effect: anxiety. It could be just a little or it could be insanely much. I think to take 1 zoplicone to get 1 night of sleep is not so bad, tbh, the problem is more if you take it every night for 7 days.

@kingsfan Do you know? I'm asking since you seem to have experience with meds and tapering if I'm not mistaken?

Is it risky to take one zopiclone pill after two months of pause (and then stopping)? Would that equal quitting cold turkey? Or is it more damaging to continue not sleeping?
Juliane
Thanks so much everyone! Really appreciate your help. I feel it should be OK too but became worried because I earlier stayed off Z for 1 month, then took 3 in a row and felt it made me more sensitive to sound. And they do work like benzos which many warn against. But I guess I can take one.

I thought maybe taking 1 pill after a long pause could mess with the GABA receptors...
kingsfan
@Juliane That's similar to a benzo, no? I don't know of anyone who has had any issues taking them here and there. I used to take Valium every once in a while with no ill effect.
Juliane
@kingsfan Zopiclone is a non-benzo but works on the GABA receptors in the same way. So I am not sure of the difference actually...
