@4alien2 - we suffer some of the same. It's hard when the pills don't work. It happened to me too. After some time, I'm not sure how, sleep came back to me. Coming off of mirt can cause a short period on insomnia.

@4Grace that might Explain the issue I am having besides the ringing. 1 week off...

I'm over 19 months in since my tinnitus intensity jumped and still struggling with insufficient broken sleep. None of the sleeping meds I've tried seem to help much to keep me asleep. Haven't tried Mirtazapine.
4alien2
@4Grace Yes. I continue the mirtazapine or I will die of insomnia. The bad thing is the sound got too loud and even with medication I can't sleep anymore
4Grace
@RunningMan i went 5 months no more then a hour. I thought I was going to die too. It was mirt that saved me at the time. @4alien2 you are not alone

@Tryn2BHopeful - hello, I am sorry to see you back here but happy to hear from you. How are things?
4alien2
@RunningMan I would live with that old tinnitus for the rest of my life. This new level is very bad. I feel sorry for you, what was the reason for this rise?
Tryn2BHopeful
@4Grace things are the same I guess. I was doing ok mentally until yesterday. Been going to those football games and staying busy. It helps, less things bothering my ears, but the loudness and reactivity remain.
RunningMan
I think it was caused by noise trauma - sudden continuous chirping sound to bluetooth headphones that started while I was exercising, so I didn't stop it right away. I've been taking zolpidem low dose which usually gets me back to sleep, but maybe just an hour. So, I'm trying to avoid it for now to see if my overall sleep changes without it.

@Tryn2BHopeful - sorry to hear you may have taken a turn yesterday but so nice to hear you were able to get out to those football games. Overall looks like you had some good days. I think that's a good sign.

@MindOverMatter if I had to be honest. I feel like I could only be happy if it was gone. It's aggravated when I move, eat, touch my head, clench my teeth, you name it. Can't drink a glass of wine, no desert. Sound spikes it a lot. I am exhausted. I am really feeling down after one year. My family is so tired and moving on.
4Grace
@MindOverMatter - sorry I'm talking a lot I know. What's crazy is that I have not been able to sit for a minute. Sound therapy all the time. Can't lay down and relax. Can't watch TV. It's exhausting.

@4Grace well I had a good friend pass away unexpected yesterday. So it put me in a funk. Made me realize that while T might suck, I am still here to be with my wife and kids

I have no advice unfortunately, I do at present sleep just fine with my crazy tinnitus. I don't take anything other than magnesium before bed and only try to sleep when I'm actually tired
