@Ryan Scott its not that uncommon, my wife works in billing for a hospital and they make them get vaccines as part of their policy. I am not saying it makes sense for all positions, but its not uncommon.
@Ryan Scott It's because I work in healthcare and hospitals (some) make it mandatory. I have 3 conditions that could become worse to any vaccine. The hospital denied my request. So I've been on the phone with HR all morning and am reporting people. Its about to become a religious case tomorrow if they wanna be assholes.
@Tryn2BHopeful I'm a Cardiovascular & Neurodiagnostics Technologist. It's not uncommon, no but I have a legit reason & have already contacted the president & managers. My team & manager agree I shouldn't get it. I'm getting surgery Monday @ U of M without anesthesia in order to protect my brain. My brain is literally herniating out of my skull. Fuck this company!
@Tryn2BHopeful Vaccines may or may not make my condition worse but I don't want to find out. I have a 50/50 shot and if it gets worse there's no making it better.
@Lurius Thank you. Sorry I had to vent. It's ridiculous that some people get exemptions for no reason but I have a legit reason and get denied. Looks like I'm going religious lol
I understand in certain work environments the requirement makes sense, but this is still crazy considering your circumstances, are you able to go through a medical accommodation? get your doc to write you one and you can submit it into HR. You can sue for discrimination if they don't accommodate you when you have legit medical reasons and can still preform your job.
@crescentsky Today I sent in a religious exemption and contacted the highest branches. HR wasn't helpful yesterday, unfortunately. If I'm forced to get the vaccine and it goes wrong, you better believe I'll be in court!
Please do not get the vaccine. I had a really bad reaction & have come to the conclusion that it very likely played a role in the development of my symptoms (if not directly caused them). There is a paper out there outlining all of the adverse neurological consequences that the vaccine can cause.
You could be lucky & be completely fine. But if not, then all the money in the world won't return your health. Quit the job if you have to. Please trust me on this one. I so wish I hadn't gotten the vax.
@MadeleineHope It's not the COVID. It's the flu. I think there's a law on the COVID vaccine now. I'd quit over the COVID vaccine. I've had all my boosters with no issues pre-T. I would not get them again after T though!
