He used microsuction in my right ear and took his time and was gentle. It was a relief to hear again! However, given my issues now, my ENT said impacted wax does not cause ear ringing. I'm guessing the impacted wax only amplifies ringing that is already there, even if it's miniscule.

Even last summer, when my ears were clogged from dunking my head under the water. Hearing was muffled, but my ears didn't ring, and unclogged itself within 1-2 weeks (?) At least my hearing was fine then. Regardless, i'm never dunking my head while swimming ever again.
