Let me know how it works for you.

@Ryan Scott. I took 25 MG at 9 p.m., slept at 9:30, and woke up after an hour, but I didn't panic. It made me calm. I slept again after 35 minutes, woke up at 3:05, and had 5 hours of total sleep. I did wake up to the ringing I usually do. We will see how tomorrow goes.
RunningMan
That's probably 25 mg. 50 mg and 100 mg are common doses of Traz for insomnia. My doc said he would probably start me on 50 if I went with it, but he talked about taking zolpidem away, and I told him I didn't want to give that up if I take Traz since zolpidem works. So, I might not get Traz.
Supersix
@RunningMan Yes, she wanted to cut the 50mg in half and start with 25mg. It did help me sleep. I'm tired as shit right now; I'm keeping busy all morning. I noticed with the Traz at three in the morning, it felt like my whole head was humming. That's what woke me up. Usually, that's a sign I'm going to have a bad day.But i have little ringing and no hissing
Supersix
@RunningMan I was bothered by the humming in my head at 3:am, which I realized was due to the Trazodone medication and Tinnitus combined. It would take some time for me to get used to it. My tinnitus is sensitive to any suppression or inflammation in my system. It's weird, and I would like to know if other people experience this as well.
RunningMan
Some people have reported tinnitus spiking from Trazodone and other things. My tinnitus sounds and intensity vary, but I have never connected that with anything I've consumed.

I have low bass humming at times. No idea why. Usually after driving

@RunningMan If I catch a cold or the flu, my T is off the charts. I have woken up every night from T for eight years; it's wearing on me, especially the loud hissing during the day. If I can get rid of that, I would be good.
Supersix
Does your T wake you up every night?
RunningMan
Yes, T wakes up every night, multiple times, have trouble getting back to sleep a lot, and don't sleep long enough. take zolpidem almost every night at some point to get back to sleep.

@RunningMan, Last night, I had a bad experience with Trazodone. I fell asleep at 2 a.m. AND WOKE UP AT 5 AM, it made my tinnitus seem louder. I experienced more hissing than ringing due to ETD, and Trazodone intensified the hiss. I will never retake it. It was a horrible experience. Do you take any benzo during the day?
Supersix
@Ryan Scott Read my post. It didn't work for me; I have more of a hissing T, and it made it sound louder.I wont be taking it again

"I'm afraid to sleep at night. I'm a mess right now. I'm worried that I'll wake up to loud hissing every day. I usually have two good days. My brain wakes me up to see what level the hiss is at. Do you have any suggestions to help me deal with my anxiety? I'm sleeping 4 hours a day. Then I'm afraid to take any meds, thinking its going to cause my hissing to be louder
Tryn2BHopeful
Try some breathing and mindfulness .... unfortunately it's a viscious circle. Not sleeping makes it seem worse and being worse makes you not sleep. You have to try to break the cycle. I do take a low dose of mirtazapine (3.75mg) and it helps me sleep. I took 7.5mg early on or I would of never slept from the anxiety.
RunningMan
For benzo, I take 0.5 mg Lorazepam (Ativan) every third morning as of a few weeks ago. For sleep, I've been taking low dose zolpidem sublingual overnight about 20 months. It sounds like you need to try a different med if Trazodone spikes you.

@Tryn2BHopeful
Thank you for the feedback.

I'm going through a lousy cycle, and I'm not looking forward to going to bed tonight. I do have Lorazopam. I will take half; it usually doesn't spike my hissing too severely. I pray it doesn't do the opposite, and then I regret it. im dammed if I do and dammed if I don't.
Supersix
I decided not to take lorazepam. I listened to the app to help me fall asleep and got almost five hours of rest. I wanted to go clean after my lousy trip on Trazadone the night before. That was a horrible experience for me.
RunningMan
I took Lorazepam 0.5 mg around 7 AM. I couldn't tell if it did anything for my anxiety.
