My audiologist apt today, which was pretty much pointless, they said to listen to white noise, not fans... not other things.. white noise because it stimulates the entire hearing spectrum... I don't know if there is much science there, but maybe I will try it. I have been avoiding it because it usually aggravates things.
@Tryn2BHopeful "Yeah, same here. I was advised to use white noise as well. The thing is, like many of us with reactivity, using white noise from digital outputs really aggravates our tinnitus. I guess using a fan isn't considered true white noise, but I think it mimics it well enough to pass as white noise.
Anyway, if you're interested, I can share the link to the fan I use. Its lowest setting is really quiet. It has helped tremendously with my Loudness H, and I believe it's also helping with my reactivity @Tryn2BHopeful
@Tryn2BHopeful and @cyberspace here's the link to the fan I've been using again the lowest setting is almost silent it can hardly be heard. If you decide to get the fan setup at about 7ft away in room and run at the lowest setting for 2-3 min then slowly build from there. The lowest setting is almost silent white noise it's a good start and honestly it's added a solid 6-7DB to my loudness H
@cyberspace i just did a test it's reading at (5-10 decibels) which is compared to lower then a whisper this was at the lowest setting that I started at.
It's worth a try @cyberspace honostly sound therapy has helped me so much
