I think you should seek for professional help @xLuchiaaa if you are as depressed as you seem - given what you wrote. Just a friendly advice. I would contact a professional within the field of hyperacusis and cbt, if possible, and start with counselling asap (possibly combined with meds).

We have here in Holland a audiologist centre where they are also helping people with T and H, I am waiting on my appointments with them but it takes now long. Is the weird hearing also part of hyperacusis ? I find the T also difficult but it's now the weird hearing what makes me so depressed @MindoverMatters

@xLuchiaaa Remember that life is not a linear process. It will be obstacles, but that doesn't mean that "this is it". You can still overcome, and find your way through it - with patience, help and faith in better days.

I had muffled hearing on the onset when I got hyperacusis several years ago. This passed.

Did you have done something in that time what you think was helping ? @MindOverMatter
MindOverMatter
@xLuchiaaa Yes, 25 months counselling with an audiologist specializing in tinnitus, hyperacusis and cbt. Sound therapy (not TRT), gradual sound exposure, spending a lot of time in nature, reduce stress, time. Keeping a journal for some time, to track progress. Stay positive.

It's so strange because I have battles it before in 2019 but that time it was without muffled hearing and H. Luckily the H is almost gone it feels like. Some sounds are still difficult a bit but it feels like it's a lot better then in Augustus. May I ask what cbt means @MindOverMatter

@xLuchiaaa CBT: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - I had "only" t for 15+ yrs before I got h. If you already feel better, I think you should embrace it and think that this will pass. But to me, it sounds like you struggle a lot given what you are writing here. What do you put in muffled hearing?

Before I got H and T like it's now there was also a lot of events before it, A lot of painful events. It's like for example when i'm outside or in the store I can hear what people are saying but the background noises are scary. On that time it gives the feeling like my ears are like "full". What did you experienced yourself ?
