Tinnitus Talk Support Forum

There are other antidepressants like Mirtazapine and Amitriptyline that can help anxiety/depression, also SSRI's/SNRI's, & Bupropron. For anxiety, there's Pregabalin (Lyrica), Buspirone (Buspar), Gabapentin, Hydroxyzine, & benzos. Be careful with benzos - can build tolerance quickly, can be difficult withdrawal that can also increase tinnitus. Everything has risks. Research.

Thank you. I have taken gabapentin before for my shoulder and back it's used for nerve pain. It also said, reduces abnormal electrical activity in the brain.I know it helps with pain do you know how it helps with tinnitus?
RunningMan
Well I was responding to the anxiety/depression question. But some people have reported it lowering their tinnitus, but it seems it may be short term and possibly not repeatable when going back on it. And there are risks. I haven't used it.
