Sorry to hear that. It does seem the detector would have caused a spike sooner. You never know with this condition. I don't seem to get spikes from sounds, but it still changes in intensity and between single tone and hiss often for a day or two at a time.

I want us to heal. I can't ever stop regretting that day. I'm dealing with so much depression. Those gunshots ruined my hearing I can't take it anymore. I'm only 24 and now I just don't want to be alive

I don't like spreading negativity but I just wish someone told me that I would heal but it takes time… the doctors say this is permanent I just seriously can't do this anymore

I usually get a spike honeymoon where my T becomes less abhorrent for a time, then the spike hits. Its always worse than baseline and takes time to settle.

@MatthewR It's mentally challenging. It's okay to speak how you feel here. This is a safe place for it. We all wish we could turn back time but we can't. We can only move forward and learn news ways of coping and gain support here.
