Were you already homebound since the start or after worsening? I'm able to go outside and somehow work a little bit with protection without the H worsening. But the reactive T usually has something to say about it.

But I'm still a complete wreck mentally. I got Mirtazapine now. Did you take antidepressants?

@Kiyomi I had a permanent t spike in late Jan last year. 2-3 weeks later loudness h begins and a week later reactive t as well. I wasn't fully homebound at first but severely restricted in what I could do. I had to quit my job but I was still able to move freely around the house and take some walks outside. I had a postop appt at a hospital. I was able to go but it was a struggle.

That was the last time I was able to to go out in public bc by mid-late March I wasn't able to leave the house anymore. Little by little I worsened until I could hardly step out of the closet in my room. To make matters worse I live by an airport lmao

Luckily i haven't had to use antidepressants. Have they helped you? I was also a wreck mentally in the beginning. It's hell. I know how you feel.

I'm sending you hugs man. This sucks. I wish we didn't have to go through this.

@DesertRain I don't really know how to continue now. All my symptoms started two days after the trauma. I did not really protect my ears in the first week but did not really have any worsenings. The fullness is gone, TTTS is 90% gone. Headaches and pain are 90% gone. I also had a pretty loud angle grinder sound which is quiet now.

After 1 month and 10 days I still have H. It's better than at the beginning but pretty much the same for the last 2-3 weeks.

Also my reactive T is the same. Actually all of my tones seem to be reactive, except one 1khz tone which does not bother me. If I have any noise exposure, especially digital, the tones get louder (never above 3/10) and higher in pitch.
Kiyomi
The tones settle to a certain baseline or disappear when the noise source is gone. But most of the time I go to sleep with T doing all kinds of stuff and wake up either in silence or hissing T.

Now I'm actually back at work with hearing protection. My right ear seems fine but my left ear gets very slight pain. So I upgraded from musican earplugs to foam ones in my left ear and it's a little bit better.
I don't want to push through the pain but being able to work was a great step for me mentally.
