Once you were happy and others were jealous of you.

We all have a few things in common besides T, we are Great people and we are fighters :)

Sometimes I wish I was born with the condition so I don't know something else. Many of us know how the "normal" life felt and how precious it was (in retrospective view). We are fighters every day, but even fighters can break into tears when they know that something is not coming back at this moment.
Nevertheless we keep fighting, because the cure will come.

Yes Matt, two months ago i didnt know what tinnitus was, now im trying to fight a war i didnt know of... and the life that i knew... now is gone...
i totally relate to you about breaking into tears, but we are smart enough and we can find habituation and find many ways to cope
M
, and yes a cure is really on the way, is good to be living in this age, the people in this board deserve nothing but pure happiness and all the love in the world. lets keep on fighting together!

I'm confident that a pill (potassium channel modulatur with minor side effects) will come in the next 5 to 10 years. So we take two pills every day and are cured temporarily.
Afterwards stem cell and gene therapy will be able someday to regrow/regenerate hair cells. For hearing loss there's already a gene therapy trial (CGF166) running. So it's not that far away I think.

Yes, science is working on it, and sometimes tinnitus resolves on its own, and habituation can also happen.
there is hope.
