It appears to for most people, but it can be very gradual so that you are able to habituate as it very slowly worsens over decades.
Utdmad89
There is no evidence that it gets worse.
SumGuy
interesting, even if it comes from an ear infection and not any hearing loss?
Varda
Yes. Dead cochlea hair cells do not heal however things like acoustic trauma and infections can increase the damage so logically you will keep accumulating injuries that make it worse as you age.
RunningMan
Aging breaks down our bodies and hearing loss becomes much more common and likely as you get older, and that also increases the chances of tinnitus worsening.
Juliane
Not necessarily. There are no rules it seems. I was doing a lot better when a trauma changed everything. That was just bad luck.
kingsfan
Just protect your hearing and worry about the present. Who knows what the future holds.
RunningMan
@Juliane - you were / are still young, so that helps. Maybe another decade or two would have been worse. Habituation can make it seem the same for some people even if it worsens some over years.

I've heard stories of people who've had T for decades, some worsen but some either improve or don't change. So I guess it just depends.
