  • Hey dude how loud is your tinnitus mine is 14.000 khz very high pitch unmaskable since 1 week can this get better?

Mine is crazy loud these days. I have multiple frequencies, like an electrical storm. Crickets are the closest thing to masking but nothing works that well tbh. Left ear is worse. Trying to stay calm is key but this can be difficult.
Now in the past two weeks, this vibration when laying down has creeped up again/gotten bad and it's so distressing. Been taking 3.75mg for 6-7 months now, did you still have the vibrations at that low dose? I feel like I need to stop it asap.

@Ryan Scott I have been on a baby dose of ativan (.25mg/day) for 6-7 months because when the T and R first came on, oh my gosh the ativan quieted down both. Now that the body got used to it, very little relief, but does temporarily help with my anxiety/spiraling thoughts, but I want off of that too as it's not really serving me a huge purpose and its been way too long even at the very low dose.

@Ryan Scott For sleep, I do Magnesium Calm powder (Amazon) as well as 3mg of Source Naturals sleep science melatoin (best I've taken, also Amazon). With weaning the remeron I may have to lean back on some Benedryl temporarily, but rather do that to get me off of the Remeron and onto just natural.

@ErikaS I don't experience the ear vibrations with Mirtazapine any more. The effect wore off over time. I still take 3.75mg to help with sleep.
I just read in a thread that you experienced ear vibrations on Remeron.. I was taking 3.75mg for a short time for sleep, tried to increase to 7.5 about 3-4 months ago, got the vibrations so went back down to 3.75 and was good…
Hey man how are things going?

It's a struggle tbh. It doesnt take much noise to keep making ithings worse. I think work stress is not helping either. I don't understand why it keeps getting louder. Praying for some relief. How are you? Any improvement?

I recently had noticed that my H was starting to improve, and I was feeling more habituated to the worsening T. Then two weeks ago I dropped a fork facing my left ear, and that made my left (previously better ear) worse than my right. Feel like Sisyphus man :/
i wasted a whole decade with this dam crap, hopefully now that they FINALLY uncovered some new stuff about the auditory system SO we can get something in the near future jesus christ. but in the mean time try investing in hearing aids avoid loud stuff and rest as much as you can. we got this.
God I freaking hate this happen to you man, i hope your spike goes down. i know this decade we are going to get something i feel it. even tho last decade 2010-2020 was suppose to be our reckoning i think our luck might change. also december 3 susan shore is presenting something so please stay strong.
I wouldn't risk doing the electrocochleography test. It has loud bursts of sound for a long period. Only pure tone audiometry seems safe.
From all the experts i contacted they said it cant effect hearing. Unfortunate the result aint good. As for many people here. The beeps can go from 80 to 110db. They say that should be save (time and exposure)

Ah yea that test sucks. Had it 2 years ago. Still trying to habituate. I was nearly habituated after only 1 month until I had that test.

Why test anyway. Your tinnitus will not go away, but sure can give it a place by identify the problem. But really, be carefull with loud tones. Would not go above 50 or 60db. Because it right in the ear (right?) It can cause panic or stress reaction.

I'm going to recommend this to my ENT to not make the noises go above 60db. Just test my lower sensing between my ears. I care more about quiet ambience like wind blowing and hearing ocean waves instead of loud noises like traffic or talking. If they can't do this, it's a no go on Ecog.
I had this test too, but after the third beep i said Stop. Because the last one was to loud. It only was in the right ear. But damn...i made me sweat and now i am stuck with a pure (wave) tone, which i hadnt..do you consider prednison or dexamethason?
I wouldn't recommend it. It has ruined me. Probably about 30 seconds in each ear and can't remember how many beeps or how loud they were.
Hi tweaker could you explain how long the acoustic reflex test take. How many loud tones do you hear and decibels?
