Something about the way you say that sounds like they were going to get educated whether they wanted to or not. I hope class went well.
I've become a bit more assertive towards doctors. If they try to brush off my problems I talk over them until they listen and then educate them and recommend resources and search terms and websites. We have to make them listen.
