  • 2 yr TT anniversary last month.. I'm managing T okayish but dealing with random bouts of aural fullness/distortions in my left ear now.
Hey does the UHF tone bother u less? 2 mo in and mine is centralized and reactive and driving me crazy. Completely unmaskable
Hello. I say you posted that your tinnitus went up after getting Moderna vaccine...is it still up or did it go back down?
    wwtsai
Hi, I thought it went up but it was just me paying too much attention to my T. If there was any change, it went back to normal within a day.
Left hearing aid stopped working randomly. Oticon really has some shoddy quality.
I get kinda bummed when I look at pics from the day before my worsening happened.
    Steph1710
Ahh yes. I feel a deep sense of longing when I see pictures of me healthy. Goodbye old life - you are sorely missed.
    Ela Stefan
Yes. It is like a totally previous life for me. Seeing me in a movie or something.
Ugh my BP has been high since my worsening.. it really isn't just a sound, it's so much more.
I don't know how I'm going to survive with my T being this loud and high-pitched :(

lo mismo haria lo que fuera por deshacerme de esta tortura de sonidos
Feels like my T is getting worse and worse :( Why is this happening?
    Ilias T
Too much anxiety, maybe you focus too much on it. Your life itself. Are you in a loud city or a local farm inside a field? Try to find your triggers or the cause
Pitch change on one of my tones is causing me anxiety and nausea.. anyone got tips to deal with both?

you learn to uncouple your feelings from events that used to generate a reaction in your body.

@Steph1710 I've had it for 5 years but only noticeable in the last 6 months. I do fluctuate on a daily basis, but I was to the point where the fluctuations were predictable. This new pitch threw me for a loop but I know I'll get used to it eventually.

@buttercake I love the way you framed it! I just wish my first crush wasn't so cruel lol.
Played a video game with a high pitched victory fanfare and now one of my tones is mimicking it? This is a joke.
    BrOKeN_1
Curious if you were using headphones. And if you think it makes a difference.
    wwtsai
@BrOKeN_1 Nope, it was just thru my phone speaker at a low volume. I stopped using headphones after my tinnitus worsened back in August
They really need to make hearing aids that can amplify the higher frequencies. These are doing nothing for my T.
    Drachen
Hold strong for FX-322/OTO-413. You shouldn't need any hearing aids after those!
    tracyNYC
Agreed. Mine are useless as well.
Went for a walk cuz it was nice out and someone blasted their power tools right as I walked by their house. So freaking loud.
    Drachen
This sort of thing is why I hesitate to ever go outside and talk walks. Doesn't help that I live right on a decently traveled street, so cars go whooshing by every so often. It's amazing how we even put up with this before.
My right hearing aid which costs $2,500 crapped out after only 3 months of normal use. This is why hearing loss needs better treatments.

Just one of the MANY reasons hearing issues need better treatments.
    L
Hopefully FX-322 should solve our issues and no one needs hearing aids.

I agree. Sorry for your troubles. 3:
I think since my T is so high pitched/shrill, its causing me headaches. Anyone got any tips to deal with those?
    Snake
I get headaches too with burning head sensation after recent worsening (First orthodontic drill, then glass shattering in front of me...) :(
If I could just have the smallest control of my T it'd go a long way. Nothing I do or take affects it.
Went out for a run and came back with a new, prominent hiss.. great.
    Steph1710
Running always temporarily spikes my T. Usually goes within a couple of days.
It's not the silence I miss (haven't known that in years), but the ability to easily ignore my T.
Kinda sucks waiting while we're possibly on the cusp of something. I wish my T spike could have waited a couple of years.
    aot
    Seriously! Hard agree.
    Bill Bauer
Has there been a new development that I am not aware of?
    wwtsai
@Bill Bauer Nope, but I am being optimistic with what we've seen in the Research News section
First day taking NAC and it seems like my T might be higher today? Don't think I'm gonna continue.
Had an MRI today.. wow that was loud. T seems to be the same so far thankfully.
    sleepingsiren
I remember my first, well and only MRI. I felt SUPER dizzy the first few minutes. I was in panic and wanted to hit the emergency button.
If a spike subsides to baseline would you need to habituate to your baseline again?
    Steph1710
I guess so. Also would you even remember what your baseline was, or what it sounded like?
    wwtsai
@Steph1710 That's true.. I tried to recall what my baseline sounded like before my spike and can't remember anymore.
Tone in my left ear is now a hiss.. hopefully a good sign albeit it is more noticeable now.
    Bill Bauer
The pitch of the hiss ought to get lower and then it will become less noticeable.
