I don't know what I would do without this site..it's life saving for ppl just diagnosed. (If used properly)
Tinnitus is down to 1/10 today...not sure what I did differently yesterday. But I'm scared as to what tomorrow will hold.

You probably didn't do anything differently. If cause and effect were that simple, we'd have figured it out by now. May you have more days like this as time goes on!

Thanks Keith...and good point. All I can do is control my stress and anxiety. Started meditation yesterday. Hopefully it helps.
    Damn...now visual snow.. crap.

Hey, @Sayeed! Well, after 1,5 years I still have it, but in a mild form and it comes and goes. Some days are better, some worse. I also had sensitivity to light for at least first 6 months. Now I don't have it. My health problems are noise-induced so I can't really tell you what's causing your condition.

I understand thank you. Hoping and praying this is just a side effect of gabapentin or anxiety

Lots of people here said that time was their main healer. It means that with time our body and brain will sort things out on their own. The question is how long will it take and will it be a full recovery. Nerves take tremendous amount of time to recover.
What are your thoughts on sleep headbands.....

Thats true didn't think of it that way...I was thinking of my wife...because of my abnormal sleep patterns and need to play some noise to drown out the tinnitus, I am unable to sleep in the same bed. I feel for her and just wanted to alteast sleep In the same bed...this was my solution...but I guess not.

@Sayeed, you will have to find what works best for you and your family. I use my phone on my nightstand with water sounds running. I do it more for sound enrichment than for masking. I focus on it for about 10-20 seconds and I'm usually out. I have a sleep specialist and I try to practice good sleep hygiene, like turning down lights, etc.

So I tried ear plugs and soothing music but very low volume on my phone on a timer. I woke up with normal levels of tinnitus and compared to the headband where I woke up with blaring tinnitus. So it was an improvement. Ditching the headband for now.
Confused...don't even know what type of tinnitus I have...scared to sleep laying flat because i feel the head pressure will return.

If your T begins fading during your first three months or so, it ought to continue to fade and within 2-3 years you will have your life back.

@Bill Bauer what if I have an additional tone, like crickets? And sometimes another like birds chirping?

Thanks Bill I hope. But im wondering if it's just related to the gabapentin..
