  • in other news : i tried weed again. it doesnt spike anymore! i guess bc im not worried anymore? they really need to science this more
BTW been trying to find similar stories of TMJ tinnitus healing, and im suprised how rare they are. i hope my story will help others like me
    Wrfortiscue
What did your tmj T sound like?
    Gemini Crickets
@Wrfortiscue high pitched eee sound when its bad. mostly now kinda like a soft high pitched little sss kinda thing. barely hear it unless i plug my ears or really try to find it.
oh yeah. definitely slowly getting cured. for any new tinnitus cases, get your TMJ checked.
    Gemini Crickets
@asquared122 my tmj dentist made a mold of my teeth. I go meet her every month to have it adjusted and eventually ill have to get braces.

The splint has to be custom fit and done by a tmj dentist or it doesnt work properly apparently.
    Stanlex
Any progress so far? I wear a TMJ splint too (for a month), it helped with ear fullness and maybe muscles feel less tight but the pain in and around the TMJ joint, including ear pain and the tinnitus is still the same :(
    Gemini Crickets
@Stanlex it takes time. Make sure you wear the real thing. A custom made splint from a TMJ dentist. I used to have the kind that wasnt a custom fit and it didnt help at all.
hey dude, would you say that the TMJ splint has made the Tinnitus quieter at all? Also, have you gotten braces yet?
    Gemini Crickets
no braces yet, still on the splint. still have tinnitus. there are good days and bad days i think the good days are increasing. otherwise its hard to tell. the dr says her other patients' TMJ caused tinnitus clear up from like 3-6 months ish (and some of those have it really loud). Im almost at month 2. ill 100% update my status when its gone.
so for future record, tinnitus even caused by TMJ gets worse with weed. next experiment will be after im cured
    Tweedleman
I believe they discovered cannabinoids that are responsible for T. Also coughing and and effects on bloodflow contribute
weed experiment results : still makes tinnitus worse, even if casued by TMJ. T goes thru the ear still, and maybe weed affects that.
in other news im getting my covid vaccine this monday. SINOVAC. i'll be sure to post how it goes any effects etc etc
Solved. TMJ dentist said i need braces. Tmj confirmed. Curable. Thank the lord.
    martinberryhorse
That's great news! Do you know how he confirmed the TMJ?
    Gemini Crickets
@martinberryhorse she asked for some xrays. Took a look and thought i was in excruciating pain. My jaw is uneven, and theres a 10mm gap thats missing under my c1 vertebrae. Of course this is after seeing an ENT, audiogram, ct scan, etc to rule out other stuff.
Had cashew butter 30 mins ish befire the little spike? Anyone think its cashews??? The only out of ordinary thing i can think of
Weird spike. Got loud in my right ear for a few seconds then settled down. Minecraft and talking with a friend on laptop speakers? Not loud?
i cant tell if its gradually getting softer or im getting better at ignoring it
    kuromi
Maybe a bit of both? Either way your going to get there. Stay strong.
    Gemini Crickets
yea i'm keeping the faith. plenty of success stories here where it just spontaneously heals. cant wait to post mine.
so ENT asked me to get a scan. CT - might miss small tumor apparently, also radiation, MRI - really loud could make T worse. whats the move?
    Wilsonchan7
I had MRI before. It was really uncomfortable experience. But you have to do it anyway to rule out the possibility of tumor or something.
    Bill Bauer
Only do an MRI scan if there is a high chance that you will die if you don't do it. I know of at least two people whose T got permanently louder after an MRI. The risk is low, but what's at risk is horrible...
    Gemini Crickets
Nah @Wilsonchan7 im gonna get the ct instead. Aint risking it. 2 hours (they said it would take 2 whole hours) in a tiny metal tube at 100db aint for me. Some peeps on here even got T that way. I aint finna make mine worse. ENT okayed it anyway.
Not sure if im imagining it or not but i think its getting softer wohoo
    kuromi
From my experience, I was doubtful it was getting softer when it started to fade and eventually it settled down at a lower level. Best of luck to you.
uh oh my left ear, which was nearly gone, now matching my right ear. glad its all a soft high pitched hiss, but was hoping it would go away
