I can’t believe I managed to be sick at this time of year. I don’t even know what it is but it sure makes my T insanely loud and reactive. Aug 3, 2023

If being sick wasn't bad enough then you have T on top of it. Sorry to hear. I'm sure your T will go down once the illness gets better.

I don’t know what to do anymore to protect my ears when I need to go to the city. Ear plugs occlusion is just too much when I walk.

I have custom molded ear plugs for going to town, and loud places, but unfortunately the occulsion is as bad wearing those as wearing my other ear plugs, or noise cancelling headphones.
I'd also love to find a solution as my sound reactivity really reacts to the occulsion

@DeanD I've had custom molds made twice so far. I asked for them to be deep and with the least amount of occlusion each time.

The second pair is much better than the first pair, but I will admit that deeply inserted foam are still the best. I can get close to 0 occlusion with foam.

I insert them until there is barely enough to grab to remove them: https://www.profithearing.com/how-to-use-ear-plugs/

I second @kingsfan. Deeply inserted foam plugs are what you need. Occlusion is barely audible, if at all

    Tinnitus Since:
    12/2019
    Cause of Tinnitus:
    Noise induced (+ TMJ/ETD/medication?)
I have tinnitus since late 2019 mainly due to an acoustic trauma from using headphones one evening.

My main tones are a high-frequency hiss and a low-frequency hum.

I was habituated until April of 2023 where I had multiple occuring events (stress/medication) which resulted in an increase of my LF and brought back reactivity.

I also have other health conditions such as TMJD, seborrheic dermatitis and eye floaters.
