Help! Left Ear Has Gone All Weird!

My left ear has gone all strange today. No recent noise exposure, don't have a cold either but my ear feels weirdly full, hearing slightly muffed, really loud vibrating / static sound. Three years in and never had it like this.

    Stopped Smoking: It's Gone Mad

It's only been 14hrs and my body is already punishing me. Apart from feeling light headed and disoriented, my ears are popping more than usual and the tension that I've been having in my neck and shoulders for 3 yrs is now shifting in a really strange way causing my Eustachian tubes to open...

Crying on My Way to Work

It's not the sound that bothers me- it's the rentless shifting neck/shoulder tension. I mean it's really bad now. When my muscles are more relaxed, the T is not as bad. I work at a a computer all day and I think my muscles have got themselves into a pattern. And it's on one side only. There...

How Can You Find Out the Cause of Your Tinnitus?

I've had this affliction for over two years. You may never know the cause because there are many ways that people get T. The main culprit is noise exposure, either sudden or prolonged such as listening to music at high volume.

    Neck Tinnitus

I went to an Oseotopath when it all started. It worked ie silenced the T whilst I had the treatment. Maybe you should try having a sports massage and get them to concentrate on your trigger points. I do have to add that many people on TT do not have the obvious hearing loss ie standard Audiogram...

    Neck Tinnitus

A lot of people can change the volume/ pitch of their T by moving or pressing their jaw/neck/ head. With hearing loss, the somatic nerves are kinda recruited to compensate.

TMJ Trigger Point Injections a Good or a Bad Idea?

If you have a sinus infection why not try a Neti pot? The only way to get rid of trigger points is massage. The longer you have them, the harder it is to get rid of them. Muscles become used to being in a certain tensed state. I have this on the left side if my neck and shoulder and it very...

    Fizzing Pitch

Well, I think it's a combination of a lot of things- a truckload of stress and anxiety, coupled with working in front of a computer and possibly repetitive strain. Wisdom Tooth Extraction: Will It Make My Tinnitus Worse?

Rina, it was fine! I absolutely hate Dentists, but the extraction was relatively quick and not as painful as expected. I was more worried about getting a dry socket which is seriously painful. My T did get a bit louder for a few days but no big shakes. However, another wisdom is playing up...

    Can Anxiety Cause Tinnitus?

All the ENT people I spoke to believed that stress and anxiety can cause T. One audiologist claimed said that their ears would ring when under a lot of stress. I even know a few people who got T because of stress and eventually it went away. Godamnit, why won't mine go away!!!:cry::cry:

Tinnitus After One Loud Blast from Earbuds. Chances It Will Go Away?

Difficult to say. I see (and hear!!!) people everyday listening to music on max volume and they probably do that on a regular basis. Give the ears a total rest from music and you should be fine:). If you're really concerned, go and see an ENT and get a hearing test.

The dentist should take an X-ray. If he sees that the nerve is wrapped around the root of the tooth for example, he may advise against an extraction.
