6 Weeks in with Tinnitus... Help?

If you feel that your ears are full, then they're probably full, regardless of what the ENT says. It's mucus. Even if it's an infection, it's still mucus. Eventually that will start to damage your hearing, so you'll want to get that drained. I have had a whole decade+ long episode dealing with...

Eardrum Vibration / Twitching from Moving Hair

I don't know if it's normal, but this happens to me after I've managed to get the mucus in my ears to drain. I like to imagine that it's the hammer not knowing exactly what to do after being constrained for so long. I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes distracting.

I Figured It Out... Dehydration, Dry Air, Allergens Were the Things Responsible for My Tinnitus

A little update: I gradually fell out of practice drinking lots of water and all the other stuff, and of course my tinnitus gradually went up. After my lowest point, which I won't describe, I tried to get it back down by resuming all the things I thought were helping. When it didn't improve, I...

I Figured It Out... Dehydration, Dry Air, Allergens Were the Things Responsible for My Tinnitus

Sorry for the super late reply JasonP. It's hard to say, because I don't think the tinnitus lessened in lock-step with the reduced pressure. I think the inner/middle ear needs to have a little time to recover. That said, it took a day of taking it every four hours before I could feel it...

I Figured It Out... Dehydration, Dry Air, Allergens Were the Things Responsible for My Tinnitus

I forgot to mention the cooler full of mold in the middle of the living room. That one was a big oops. I hadn't opened it in a year, couldn't smell it, but it isn't sealed so for all I knew that was a big source of my problem. It's clean now, though there's a thin sheen of slipperiness that'll...

I Figured It Out... Dehydration, Dry Air, Allergens Were the Things Responsible for My Tinnitus

Dehydration, dry air, allergens. These were the things responsible for my tinnitus. Starting with an incident on a school bus half a life time ago, I'd live with ringing in my right ear. Pressure also built up, sometimes to the point of pain. Recently I've learned that the outer edges of the...

Retigabine (Trobalt, Potiga) — General Discussion

Hmm. It was certainly nice to have something out there that could potentially cure it, even though it might have been out of reach most likely. Just knowing it was there helped me stay positive through the worst of it while I worked to figure out what was going on. Having still not read this...

Retigabine (Trobalt, Potiga) — General Discussion

I'd never heard of visual snow as an actual disease you could get until I read this thread. Holy cow.

    Tinnitus Saga

Update: The anti-fungal idea didn't work at all. That was silly of me to try, but I guess I can rule out an infection of that sort. Severity of the tinnitus appears to be dependent on more than just salt, but I'm not sure what else yet. Perhaps MSG is to blame. I say this because some salty...

    Considering Puncturing My Eardrum

I believe a small puncture is how I originally got tinnitus. So... don't do that. Leave the surgery up to the doctors. Since you don't have hearing in that ear anymore, perhaps you can get surgery? If your ENT/doctors don't help you with this I'd try to find another one, losing your hearing...

    Tinnitus Saga

Thanks for the kind words. I don't know if I have that - its not a diagnosis from a doctor, but it seemed convenient considering how it helped me to watch my salt intake and eat lemons (a diuretic). It was an interesting idea, however, now I'm not sure. I think it's possible fluid pressure could...

    Tinnitus Saga

Hello! I've had tinnitus since 2000 or 2001, I don't remember exactly. I was on the bus after school, I think it was the last day of the year, and a kid behind me stuck something in my right ear. It like a blade of grass, but stronger, like wheat. To this day I'm not 100% sure what to call it...
