Wow! There are just so many approaches being tried. Yet they are to categorize which treatment would work for what. I think vns stimulation would suit more for ppl with non cochlear tinnitus. Although then they don't describe the patients history any where.

@Karl There may be good logic to what you have to say. Let's say there is some amount of damage to the haircells. This intern would cause an imbalance in the gain each neuron is asked to apply. Suddenly the neuron looses input but continues to apply the gain. So it's a sort of amplifier feedback...

I don't think they mean sound therapy. I think it's more to do with ones daily routine. If it is true that the brain adapts to the sound around you. It would be good to keep a schedule like a normal workday and allow the ambiance to tell the brain how to reorganize. True it may not abolish...
