I have exactly the same problem. With the same symptoms. If I close ear off hum goes away. If i put earplugs in hum goes away. Ear defenders .. the same.

Not to mention some of the scientists have hearing loss or loved ones with hearing loss.

Could be a good hearing protection reminder.

I wonder if treating above 8 kHz will have a side effect of bringing the perception of the lower frequencies up ever so slightly. I have no scientific basis for that though, but I do wonder.

I have been using olive oil on my ears and I think i've screwed them up with it. :cry: I can hear the sub tone most of the time now. If I use musicians ear plugs it does stop it. I might try sleeping with the plugs in tonight to see if I can get a better nights sleep.

Hi @HootOwl , thanks for your response on the low frequency humming post. My doctor said that I need to stop ginko as it may be having an affect on kidneys. Not sure if that's true but I'm gonna listen. I found that if I put my ear plugs in the humming goes away. I also did a kettlebell home...

What if it's a combination of problems? FX-322 could help a bit and OTO-413 could finish up. Each treatment could deliver their own improvements increasing the quality of life with each treatment.

Ah I see. I hope FX-322 can help us all. I'm pinning my hopes on that too. These 9 months have been hell. Making music without fully enjoying the process. It sounds like there are wurly tubes spun over the top of any complex sound.

Sorry to hear about your sensitivity. There is no pain. My pain is not being able to make music as quickly as I have done. Always second guessing if distortion are in the audio or in my head. Its maddening.

I have taken it a few times before. I think it's the good sleep rather than anything else. I'm having a really tough day today. The ringing is just so loud.

I took 7.5mg in the evening. I had a long sleep and then had a better day the following day. My good day was yday. I didn't take any last night though. I'm going to take it sporadically though. When my T gets insane. It could be getting some good uninterrupted sleep does the trick...who knows.
