    The Positivity Thread

I totally agree, raymundo. If we behave in a positive fashion, I think our minds will follow suit. Fake it till you make it, if that is what it takes. The end result will be a happier day.

Has Anybody Reduced Pulsatile Tinnitus with DIet/Exercise?

I've been running, and for me, it seems to clear out my head a bit. I've been thinking about making dietary changes, but I don't know if I have the discipline to go off carbs or gluten, for example. Somehow, exercise is an easier thing for me to be disciplined about.

    Pineapple or Pineapple Juice?

Yeah, pineapple is a natural anti-inflammatory. So, ingesting it will possibly improve blood circulation ( in your head and neck for tinnitus relief ) and maybe reduce your tinnitus. I suppose, if you like pineapple, it wouldn't hurt to add it to your diet, as well as other anti-inflammatory...

    l Think I Have It All... (Tinnitus + Hyperacusis + TTS + ETD+ TMJ)

Saif, you may well be one of the youngest people on these boards, which puts you in the supremely fortunate position of being someone who will probably enjoy a cure in your lifetime! The problem with youth, sometimes, is you don't have enough of life's rough patches already under your belt...

Your Thyroid Can Make Your Ears Ring!

Thank you for the information, and the caution regarding medications contra-indicated with levothyroxine. I am so much not in to taking meds, but this levothyroxine, I find myself grateful for it's existence.

    What Has Tinnitus Taught You?

I so agree. Once you've raised up your 'bundle of joy' you never see a tiny wrapped bundle again without realizing the amount of work involved in that particular 7 or so pounds of baby. A huge range of emotions are in your future, and worry should be left at the door as often as possible. 'be...

    What Has Tinnitus Taught You?

Wow, Alex, I think that is a great perspective to have shared with your fellow T sufferers. It reminds me of the time an opossum got into our house, and we propped the front door open wide, and huddled on the staircase out of sight, waiting for that darn animal to find its way back outdoors...

Your Thyroid Can Make Your Ears Ring!

So, I'm one week in taking 50 mcg of levothyroxine, and so far big help in getting my energy levels back on track. Fuzzy head feeling gone, but tinnitus is still around. I cannot say it has changed much, other than I am somewhat better able to not notice it during the day (it's on humming...

    What Has Tinnitus Taught You?

You know, I was thinking, babies force us to get outside of ourselves, as they so completely depend on our caring for them. Use this to your benefit in dealing with the tinnitus. Maybe the mindfulness of caring for your baby will help minimize the time when tinnitus is trying to get front and...

    What Has Tinnitus Taught You?

Talk with your doctor about possible hormonal imbalances after having a baby. I don't know how old your baby is, but your hormones go through a lot as a new mother. That could be playing a large part in your feeling you have lost the 'happy spirited person' you once were. And tinnitus, of...

    What Has Tinnitus Taught You?

I like to think of what I am going to 'teach' my T about me. T is not taking me out for a walk, rather I'm on the people end of the leash with this T. It's all a process, I know, but this is the approach I prefer to take, personally. It's a battles of sorts we are fighting with T. I want my...

    Doing Nothing Worked for Me

I do think there are bigger and more interesting, absorbing battles we can fight through to successful conclusions, other than this tinnitus deal. If we can find something; family, work, projects, community, whatever, to focus upon, the tinnitus doesn't get into the front seat of our...

Your Thyroid Can Make Your Ears Ring!

Hi alifalijohn, I've actually had the tinnitus for around 18 months, as best I can remember. A lot of stress, and without my realizing it, my thyroid was 'crashing'. I think all three are related; stress, tinnitus, hypothyroidism. I've been reading that tinnitus can fade when the...

Your Thyroid Can Make Your Ears Ring!

Hi Lilian, I've just begun taking medication for hypothyroidism (Hashimotos), and am hoping my tinnitus will subside in time. Have you begun taking anything yet? Any results one way or the other?
