    Physical Exercise and Tinnitus

As others have said, exercise helps in combating stress and therefore assists in that awful tinnitus / stress merry-go-round which we all get on from time to time. Good luck.

Thanks Greg. Hydrops hasn't yet been considered and Menieres was considered unlikely. This opinion was a year ago, however. Vertigo has never been a symptom since diagnosis until now

    Opinions Please

I didn't get the vertigo symptoms until a year after the hearing loss diagnosis and the onset of T. The vertigo began when I was on the couch. Had one terrible night where the world was spinning but then it subsided. I only had 3 episodes, but a mild light headed feeling has remained.

    Opinions Please

Afternoon / Evening /Morning All, Just looking for an opinion / shared experience. In March 2017, I was diagnosed with unilateral low frequency hearing loss, categorised as SSHL, potentially brought about by a terrible flu illness. It of course started with aural fullness before the Tinnitus...

How Did Tinnitus Affect These Three Areas (Work, Sex, Sport) of Your Life?

Work: Depends on the level of T as mine seems to fluctuate almost daily of late. I teach, so ordinarily, I'm too distracted by my own voice to notice! On bad days however, I can it very distracting and it's easy to lose focus / concentration. Sex: T disappears. Probably the best therapy there...

    New Tinnitus Sufferer :(

Try to be as positive as you can. Spikes can be scary, but over time you'll accept them and be aware that they subside. My T spikes constantly and rarely follows any real pattern. Sometimes it's very low, other times I can hear it above the car engine and radio. You will adjust and you will...

Do you hear it instantly when you wake @light rain? Or is there that split second before it appears?

    Tinnitus Whilst We Sleep

What happens to our T when (if) we sleep? It clearly affects the conscious mind, but how does it affect the unconscious? I wonder if any relative neuro tests have been conducted in this regard and could it assist the overall condition? Just a thought.

    New to the Game

Thanks @Michael Leigh Have you heard of colds with nasal congestion and / or meds (Voltaren) to cause spikes in T? I really hope it's something temporary and the normal T can return. Grant

    New to the Game

Thanks @Michael Leigh, I'd say my exposure to loud music through headphones or otherwise has been very limited. I would generally listen to music in the car or at home via speakers. I have had sporadic exposure to firearms over the years, but always with the correct ear protection. Grant

    New to the Game

Hi @Michael Leigh Thank for the reply. I was always health and noise conscious, but as we know, it doesn't take much. My ENT suggests that a bout of flu in November may be a factor for the SSHL, but he can't be sure. I'm just concerned that after habituating, my T has doubled after the...

    New to the Game

Hello to all, What a strange year it's been so far! Noticed aural fullness in my left ear around Christmas 2016 and went through the usual stuff - ear wax drops, visits to GP, etc. Was informed of the possibility of ETD and that I should pop my ears, etc. Then...... the tinnitus started and...
